3. Measurement & Instrumentation

2. Site Inspection Methodology

Site inspections include a visual assessment of accessible areas, documentation of observed conditions, moisture measurements where applicable, and environmental condition evaluation. Non-invasive techniques are used to identify areas of concern and support sampling decisions.

Observations are recorded contemporaneously using written field notes and photographic documentation. The inspection does not include destructive testing unless separately authorized.

3. Measurement & Instrumentation

3. Measurement & Instrumentation

3. Measurement & Instrumentation

ESMA Consulting utilizes industry-standard moisture meters, hygrometers, thermal indicators, and air sampling pumps. Instruments are operated in accordance with manufacturer specifications and standard field practices.

Instrument readings are used as indicators to support assessment and sampling decisions and are not presented as definitive determinations of contamination or exposure.

4. Sampling Strategy

5. Laboratory & Chain-of-custody

3. Measurement & Instrumentation

Sampling strategies are tailored to the project objective and observed conditions. Sampling locations and quantities are selected based on:

  • Visual Indicators
  • Moisture presence or history
  • Building layout and airflow considerations
  • Purpose of testing (assessment vs. verification)

Sampling characterizes environmental conditions at the time of inspection only and is not predictive of future conditions.

5. Laboratory & Chain-of-custody

5. Laboratory & Chain-of-custody

5. Laboratory & Chain-of-custody

All samples are documented and transferred under chain-of-custody procedures and submitted to accredited analytical laboratories. Chain-of-custody records include sample identifiers, collection details, and laboratory receipt confirmation.

Laboratory analytical reports are incorporated into the final deliverable without alteration.
